Excerpt from New Covenant Power by our Mother Foundress

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.” (Jn 3:17)

At the end of the Our Father, Jesus prays, “Father, deliver us from all evil” (Mt 6:13). Some translations say, “from the evil one.” They are both one and the same. God responds to us just as He responded to Jesus. He leads us to the Cross, because as Scripture says, all power and all wisdom come from the Cross (1 Cor 1:18). This is the power of the New Covenant. Remember, in the first Covenant, God rested on the seventh day because it was finished (cf. Gen 2:2). In the New Covenant, He rests upon His Cross within us, because it is finished (cf. Jn 19:30). God rests because His work is done. He is now within us. Through us, He will carry on this great ministry of intercession, this great ministry of Love. This is the Power that comes when we carry the Cross.

The Lamb takes away the sin of the world. This Lamb is the Wisdom of God, because the highest form of wisdom is surrender. “Yes Lord, yes Lord, yes Lord.” Is there anything weaker than a little lamb? God connects us to Himself through the power of the Cross. The Lion and the Lamb. Is there anything more powerful than a lion? The lion symbolizes the power of God. It is the power of the Cross, Love at its best.

God’s love for us is passionate. What more could He do to show us His love than to lay down His life for us? In pondering John 3:16, “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,” I began to experience His love for the world in a much deeper way. God does not hate the world. Rather, He hates the spirituality of the world. He hates what His people are choosing in the world, but He so loved the world that He gave His only Son as ransom, so that He could take back this beautiful world for His greater honor and glory. This is why Jesus came and why He continues to come within us. The Cross is the fullness of consecration, of Covenant Love. It brings the Power that defeats the enemy. It brings the victory.

“Then He took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is My Body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of Me.’” (Lk 22:19)
