“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”

“Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your Word.” (Lk 1:38)
In the Book of Hebrews we hear Jesus speaking to the Father, “A body You have prepared for Me” (Heb 10:5). The body He refers to is His Mystical Body, the Church. “Behold, I come to do Your will” (Heb 10:7). The words speak of sacrifice and of being consecrated by the Spirit to a life of obedience. The early Christians understood the power of obedience, and how it takes away sin. “They defeated satan by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” (Rv. 21:11). It is the testimony of Jesus because He is the Word of God.
“Yes, Father, Your will be done.” Satan hates this because it strips away his kingdom of sin, of disobedience. God’s Word, enfleshed now in Christians saying, “Yes, yes, yes”, defeats satan by the power of the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. We each ought to be able to say, “Behold the Lamb of God in me!” We ought to be able to continue the Lamb’s mission, this beautiful mission of taking away the sin of the world through our own obedience. If you are in relationship with the Lamb of God, you are automatically in relationship with what He does. He continues His mission in us as we allow ourselves to be consecrated by the Spirit to a life of obedience.
The Lord showed me the power of Our Lady’s “yes”. It brought God from Heaven into a human body. Every time we surrender, our “yes” has the power to bring Jesus not only into us, but also into others.
Surrender carries the phenomenal power of intercession. Right now, you might be holding some people in your heart. All you have to do is say, “Yes, Lord,” to whatever He puts in front of you each day. Keep giving Him your “yes” and He will come to them. It is such a simple, beautiful way to pray. Today, more than ever, the world needs Jesus Christ to descend into people’s lives, bringing light, freedom, healing, and intimacy with God.
“Behold, Your Mother.” (Jn 19:27)
