Excerpt from Prayer Warrior Summit Formation Album by our Mother Foundress
“The night is advanced, the day is at hand. Let us then throw off the works of darkness (and) put on the armor of Light” (Rom 13:12)
Before St. Paul tells us to put on the armor of Light, he says, “Let us throw off the works of darkness” (Rom 13:12). Once we cast out deeds of darkness and God’s light comes into us, then Satan doesn’t have a platform anymore. So the Light is our number one weapon to dispel the darkness and uproot Satan.
Sin will always be an infraction of God’s love in some way. It will always make us somehow love God, ourselves, and others less. It will always strike against Love with the weapon of fear. The Lord indicated to us, “I want sin rooted out now. I don’t want any more band-aids. I want it rooted out so you can be totally free from Satan’s camp, free to live and move and have your being in Me.” In the Gospels, Jesus talks so much about fear, “Fear not. Fear not, little flock. Do not fear. Fear is useless.” He was giving us a weapon, His love, God’s love, to come against fear. “Perfect love casts out all fear” (1 Jn 4:18). Only God’s love is perfect love. God is the Deliverer and He will uproot the fear with His love. When we are with Jesus, adhered to Jesus, we are on firm foundation because Jesus is the Rock, and nothing can shake a house that is built on Rock.
When a room is totally dark, all you do is walk over and flip on the light switch, and the darkness is gone instantly, not gradually, but instantly. This is what God’s light will do to our darkness. We want to invite Him to bring His light into these areas of sin, darkness, and unhealed emotions. When He comes in Truth, “the Truth will set us free” (Jn 8:32).
“While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become children of the Light.” (Jn 12:36)
