“Zeal for Your House consumes Me” (Ps 69:10)
Jesus was on Fire with zeal for the Father’s greater honor and glory and that His Father’s House would become a House of Prayer. We remember how upset He became one time when He went into His Father’s House in the Temple. He overturned the tables. He was upset that people were doing all sorts of other things in His Father’s House but prayer. And so, we have to be on Fire as well and zealous that the Father’s House becomes again a House of Prayer, soul by soul by soul.
There, in that house of prayer within each one of us, Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father. St. Paul says, “In a far more excellent ministry – that of intercession.” We must stop and ask ourselves, “Am I really aware that the entire Trinity is within me? Am I really aware that Jesus, now, within me is in that far more excellent ministry at the right hand of the Father? When Jesus is at the right hand of the Father He is in ministry. He is in intercessory ministry. He is in deliverance ministry. He is empowered. Because we are with Him in this Covenant relationship, we are at the right hand of the Father.
Look at the gift He has given us through Baptism! It is the gift of the whole Trinity. This is our common vocation – together we participate in the ministerial priesthood, and the mystical priesthood. This is why we at Bellwether wear these particular crosses. They are Trinitarian because they are symbols and reminders of Baptism. This is our vocation. That is what we have all been called to and that is what we, together, are living out – for better or for worse we are in it together.
The Lord has said, “I have set you as a covenant of the people” (Is 42:5-7). “I have called you now to be a light to the nations. I have called you now to open the eyes of the blind and to bring prisoners out from darkness and to set the captives free. You can do it now. You can do it with Me because, together, we are at the right hand of the Father.”
“For My House shall be called a House of Prayer for all peoples.” (Is 56:7)
