“The angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you Good News of great joy that will be for all the people.’” (Lk 2:10)
God wants us to experience the beautiful indwelling Gift of His presence alive and active within us. This is what Baptism is all about. We must become the message, the Good News. Baptism is Good News. When others see us, they must see the Light within. We need to let this beautiful New Covenant love shine through us. It is the love that says we are special, that we are loved. Jesus said, “Let your light shine before others” (Mt 5:16).
We are all called into transforming union, into the inner life of God. In our little war manual, we write, “We are called to transforming union with the Lamb that was slain. We renew our Baptismal vocation in a consecration of New Covenant love, witnessing to an intensity of life where union of heart and mind continually engage in His ministry of intercession seeking always to prepare the way of the Lord.”
As Jesus draws us deeper into His Sacred Heart, we will in turn become, as Saint Paul says, “qualified ministers of this New Covenant” (cf. 2 Cor 3:6). We are not only called to experience His love ourselves, but to bring It to others. Your intercession will begin to have a power it never had before. You will be empowered to send forth this love all over the world so that other lives can be changed and touched, other hearts can be healed and renewed, and others can be set free and brought into the family of God so that everyone can cry out, “Abba, Father.” Jesus died for all, and the beauty of intercession is that it can reach all if we remain connected with the Source. Jesus came that “all may have Life and have it in abundance” (Jn 10:10). He is counting on us to be Life-bearers, channels of His grace, His peace and His love. What you have freely received, you must freely give.
“…God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor 9:7)
