Talk given by M. Nadine

“This is My beloved Son, with Whom I am well pleased; listen to Him.” (Mt 17:5)

St. Irenaeus once said that “the glory of God is man fully alive”. We want to be fully alive with God’s presence within us. This is what the Transfiguration is all about; to be totally transfigured, to be full of Life, full of Love, and full of Grace as Our Lady was. The sin that we want to talk about that can block this and give the enemy entrance into our hearts is the sin of envy.

The gift of the Holy Spirit that has been give to combat this sin of envy is the gift of wisdom, probably the highest gift there is. We read that wisdom enters into holy souls and makes them friends of God (Wis 7:27). When wisdom enters into holy souls and makes them friends of God, it means that God has entered in a very special relationship. Then man is fully alive with the glory of God; this is the glory of prayer warriors.

The second word that Jesus spoke from the Cross is how we put envy totally to death, “This day you will be with Me in Paradise” (Lk 23:43). If we can put envy to death, if we can call forth the gift of wisdom and beg God to enter into us fully, we can put envy to death. We can enter into that deep, very personal relationship with the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit this day.

Our Lady received this gift at the Annunciation when the Spirit of Wisdom came into Her and became enfleshed; It was Jesus. She could then cry out that Her whole being magnified the Lord and Her spirit rejoiced in God. When our whole being is filled with Wisdom Incarnate and the Word made flesh is enfleshed again within each of us, it is a fruit of the gift of wisdom. As long as we give room for the Word to take up His abode within us and make room for His gift to fill us, then we, too, can magnify the Lord.

“For with You is the fountain of Life, and in your Light we see Light.” (Ps 36:10)
