Excerpt from Wings Album by our Mother Foundress

“With joy you will draw water at the fountain of Salvation” (Is 12:3)

When Mary was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit She experienced the fruit of joy – tremendous joy. She sang it out. “My spirit rejoices in God my Savior” (Lk 1:47). This is the well of Salvation – the Holy Spirit. This joy is the fruit of the Spirit; it is our strength. It comes with connecting with the Lord. “Draw your strength from the Lord and His mighty power” (Eph 6:1). In our prayer, it is important to connect with the Lord. God knows how to make us connect with Him. And once we begin to have this constant deeper experience of His Presence, no matter what happens, we will be used to drawing from His strength and His power.

When we draw our strength from the Person of the Holy Spirit, we are drawing from His energy, which is uncreated. He never runs out. We are drawing from His hope, in the Gift He brings. When we speak of promise, we speak of hope. We might not have the promised gift in its fullness. It means there is always more. There is always tomorrow. We can hope for it. The Holy Spirit will give us the direction; He will help us to focus. We can expect that He will give us an answer. He will let us see the right strategy – go this way or not that way. There is always something happening in our prayer life when we make this connection. He knows that we need to become these very strong little prayer warriors and that we must draw our strength from the Lord and His mighty Power (Eph 6:1).

“God indeed is my Savior; I am confident and unafraid. My strength and my courage is the LORD, and He has been my Savior. ” (Is 12:2)
