Excerpt from Wings Album by our Mother Foundress

“No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends.”
(Jn 15:13)

As we progress in our journey of faith, we begin to understand the Scripture that says, “I make up now, in my body, what is still lacking in the sufferings of Christ, for the sake of His Body, the Church” (Col 1:24).  Paul tells us that we become distributors of this tremendous grace.  We begin to feed people, to give them Life.  It is all done mystically through the beautiful, mystical priesthood of Jesus Christ.  It is the Lord within us doing it.  1 Cor 6:20 tells us the same thing.  “You have been purchased at a great price; glorify God now and bear Him in your body.”  We become, individually, the Body of Christ.  Collectively, we become the Body of Christ, the Church.  It is so simple.  We all are the Body of Christ, carrying Jesus with all of His glory, which is this Cross within us.  He is constantly carrying out His redemptive, saving mission for the greater honor and glory of His Father.

When we first become conscious of the invitation to become a victim lamb, we often pull back a little bit because we don’t know what it will bring.  People have different ideas of victimhood.  The Lord in His mercy took me straight to the writings of the Little Flower which are so beautiful.  She understood perfectly what it meant to be a victim of God’s love.

God is looking for people to love.  He is looking for people who will allow Him to love them; who will allow Him to send forth His Presence and His Son and all of His gifts.  He is looking for someone with whom He can establish a relationship.  He desires to be, He tells us in Scripture, “with the children of men” (Pr 8:4).

Sacrifice and oblation, He tells us in Scripture, is not what He wants.  He wants our love and that we should know Him.  He wants a relationship with us.  God is love and He wants us to experience His love.  He wants us to be saints.  He wants us to be full of love.  That is what a saint is.  A saint is someone who is full of God’s love.

“As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love.”  (Jn 15:9)
