Excerpt from Prepare the Way of the Lord Album by our Mother Foundress

“If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.”   (Lk 9:23)

I asked the Lord one time, “Why were there so many miracles, so many big miracles, in the early Church?  What was different about those people and those who lived in the Gospels?  He said simply, “They lived close to Me.”  We must live in the Light.  We must let the Holy Spirit overshadow us.  We must live close to Jesus, close to the Spirit.  We must be held and cradled in the Heart of the Father.  Intercession will release this kind of power in every surrender, because surrender releases love.  The harvest is so ripe; the laborers are so few (Mt 9:37).  If you experience heart piercings, if you are in travail, this is the very time when you can release the creative power and energy of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus travailed in the garden through suffering.  Isaiah 53, the Scripture for intercession, is all about this Lamb of God.  It says, “Through His Suffering, My Servant shall justify many” (Is 53:11).  In Isaiah 42:6, it says, “I have called you for the victory of justice.”  The victory of justice comes about when we go to the Cross and get the graces.  In this way, God’s justice, His love, can be given to others.  That is, if we are willing to follow the Leader and pay the price – whatever it is – it is that simple. Our souls, at times, may become exceedingly sorrowful but it is always so that others may receive Him, so that others “may have Life and have it in abundance” (Jn 10:10).

“Amen, amen, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit.”  (Jn 12:24)
