Excerpt from Wings Album by our Mother Foundress

“He  chose us in Him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and without blemish before Him.”   (Eph 1:4)

What an awesome truth!  Before the world began, God chose each one of us.  Paul goes on to tell us in his letter to the Ephesians that we are, “Chosen to be holy and blameless in His sight.”  This is God’s perfect will – that we be holy – that we become saints.  Paul tells us very clearly in the next sentence, “A saint is to be full of God’s love.”  That doesn’t sound too difficult, does it?  The filling is God’s part – it is His gift.  All I have to do is the housecleaning and make room for His love.

The combat within is my own self-love – the love that I have of me, myself, and I.  That has to go.  That is the cleansing process – that is the purification process.  That is what we must take before the Lord and deal with everyday.  You will start to spot this within yourself more and more as the light comes more and more.  We become more sensitive to sin.  “Sorry about that, Lord, that was me.  That wasn’t You.  I need more of Your love.”  We want to be saints because this is God’s perfect will for us.

The more light that comes into our souls the more we are going to see the specks and dirt and dust.  It is a beautiful process because it is initiated by the Holy Spirit.  He is Light.  He wants to give us Light.  He doesn’t want us to be in the dark.  We are His children.  He does not want us to stumble and fall.  Everything about the world is darkness.  Everything about God’s Kingdom is light and He wants us to have this light.  He wants us to be holy.

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of Light”   (Eph 5:8)
